This small sandpiper I see the very first after wintering. At the very end of April and beginning of May, in the neighboring region on flooded steppe meadows. And this is so strange, because in my city he appears only after two weeks.
This sandpiper walks in shallow water in search of aquatic insects, along various puddles, swamps, although it would be more logical to look for them in the flooded meadows themselves. But for some reason they are not there.

He has a voice that is very unpleasant in my opinion, an annoying high-pitched squeak. By the way, like a wagtail, he often shakes his tail when walking.
