These small near-water birds come across to me in mid-July near the river. Usually they roam the pebbles near the river in a small flock of several birds. Surprisingly, they are not particularly afraid of people. And I think this is because they are used to seeing fishermen in these places.

This writer in the photo moved very quickly in short dashes. Takes a few steps, stops, then takes a few steps again, and stops again.
