I responded to an app report from Alma in Queens regarding a backyard monster. Following chemical trails and scratch marks through the woods, I tracked down a Hunter Beast. After preventing its attack while Ganke hacked its systems, the beast turned docile, allowing me to play fetch with it.
Checking our app, I picked up a request from a civilian named Alma, who reported that something dangerous was lurking directly in her yard. Swing over to Queens, Peter sounded genuinely surprised at the thought of a monster roaming a quiet residential neighborhood.
Arriving at the location, I took a quick pause to interact with a fan waiting nearby, giving her a handshake before diving into the investigation.
I met Alma, who revealed that she was visually impaired. When Peter introduced himself, she admitted she didn't recognize his voice, so he clarified that it was Spider-Man.
She explained that a creature had been scratching around her yard at night. When Peter suggested it might just be a stray dog or a rat, she insisted her heightened hearing could pick up a stray half a mile away, though none of her neighbors seemed to believe her.
Peter promised to check around the property and report back with whatever he turned up. Scanning the ground in the backyard, I immediately picked up heavy footprints that clearly didn't belong to any typical local animal.
Peter noted the potential presence of symbiote activity, prompting me to run a deep scan and perform a molecular assessment. Sifting through the structure, I destroyed the corrupted atoms while preserving the essential ones, quickly realizing the material was completely inorganic and far stranger than expected.
Detecting a faint chemical signature left in the dirt, I began following the glowing trail as it led away from the houses and straight into the nearby woods.
Deep inside the forest, I stumbled upon a wrecked car showing massive, deep scratch marks across its rear metal frame that looked powerful enough to rip through solid steel. Continuing along the path, the trail showed massive, unnatural leaps between trees that no ordinary wild animal could ever perform.
Reaching the end of the line, I spotted the source which is one of Kraven’s Hunter Beasts. Despite my close approach, the mechanical creature didn't attack right away.
Peter called Ganke to explain the situation, and they decided to attempt a system hack on the beast to gather intel on the Hunters' movements.
Prepping a override device, I closed the distance, noticing an arrow embedded in the hound's side. The moment I attached the device to override its programming, the beast went hostile, lunging directly at me.
I held off its attacks while shouting for Ganke to finish the remote override from his end. Ganke successfully bypassed its control systems, instantly dropping the beast's aggressive posture.
To my surprise, the robotic hound began acting like an adorable, domesticated pet dog, even letting Peter pet its head.
Ganke theorized the Hunters might have used the hound for target practice before abandoning it. I shot webs at objects around that place to play fetch, watching my new robotic assistant excitedly chase after them.
That's all for now. I'll write about more of this story again soon. Be safe till we meet again.
Au revoir/Goodbye.
