This prompt made me remember a scenario that happened a few years ago that nearly caused me harm. That day, I would have been brutally injured, and the story might have been different today, but I am glad nothing bad happened.
When we talk of scary animals, it's not limited to wild animals alone; some domestic animals are scary. Another reason why I don't like cats is that I find them scary with their shining eyes, but that aside, I am a lover of dogs. Damn, I love dogs a lot, but not all breeds. My dad has four breeds of dogs we rear in my house: a rottweiler, a boerboel, a German shepherd, and a Caucasian. We lost the Caucasian a few years ago, and it was an experience I don't like remembering, and this was where my encounter with a scary animal surfaced.
If you've seen an adult male boerboel, you will know the real meaning of scary. That breed of dog is so scary. There is a man who is a veterinary doctor from whom we get our dogs. On this particular day, I and my dad went there to get our rottweiler vaccinated, which was still a puppy then, and I stayed outside beside the car admiring the little eskimo I saw in the cage when a man brought his adult male boerboel for vaccination too. I never knew a dog was coming behind me. I was busy playing with the eskimo when I suddenly heard a loud bark. On turning back to see where the barking came from, I saw this huge creature behind me with his dropped jaws and big canine. I nearly fainted. At that point, I didn't know what to do. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, screaming on top of my voice, and the funniest part was that this dog was not even barking at me; the owner held tightly to its leash because if he could escape at that moment when I ran, I was done. My dad and the doctor ran outside to see what caused the commotion, and there was the big, scary dog, which nearly gave me a heart attack.
At the end, my dad ended up buying a male Boerboel puppy, and that added to the rottweiler we came with. Just when I thought I had seen it all, all that's left is to get used to the puppy and manage its madness as it grows. Just when I thought we would stop with the two, I had an encounter with another scary dog, and that is a Caucasian. Have you ever seen an adult Caucasian, be it male or female? Those creatures look like lions; they are so huge that, if you are not careful, they are big enough to pull a human down. Just on a normal check-up day for our dogs, on getting to the doctor's house, where he keeps his dogs and gets them treated, we saw an adult female Caucasian chained. Truth be told, that dog is beautiful. I loved her immediately, so I set my eyes on her. The doctor said she was just being imported; he wants the dog to mate so that he can sell her puppies, but there is one available at that time. I immediately looked at my dad because I knew he would surely have an interest. One of his workers brought out the Caucasian puppy, and I must say, she is beautiful, with fluffy hair. I surely want to go home with her, and just as I had thought, it happened. That's how we got three dogs before adding a German shepherd to them and losing the Caucasian a few years ago due to an injury.
