I don't know how many people in Steemit back Kickstarters on a regular basis, but I have been known to succumb to a few, especially when it comes to coop board games. Sometimes you order something, and when it shows up almost a year later, you just aren't as excited about it as you had been. Today is not one of those days. Today in the mail I finally got my copy of Gloomhaven!

I kept the picture big because, oh boy, the box is big! It is by far the heaviest board game in my collection.

I've watched a number of videos detailing the gameplay and it looks like it's right up my alley. I quite enjoy cooperative boardgames but dislike the quarterbacking (one person takes control and ends up telling everybody else what to do) that sometimes happens in these types of game. Gloomhaven has specific bits of hidden information and goals that limit quarterbacking. It's a very tactically oriented game, which appeals to me, but there is this sort of ticking clock that keeps the characters from wasting too much time.

As you can see on BoardGameGeek it is one of the best-ranked games on their site. You can follow that link for more information, reviews and tutorials than you'll probably ever need.

Now I just need to build up my gaming group and start playing. It'll probably be after the holidays, but will be sure to post here with an update of how it went. Until then...
