Hi, Hive Runners! How’s are you? It’s been a while since I’ve been back here—sorry about that.
Last Sunday, after participating in many of races event, I finally chose the ARMARTHA RUN 1OK to be my first race of the year. Yup, even though there were so many great running events before this one, I was actually looking forward to this one.

The day before the race, I went to pick up my race pack first. Maybe because it was the last day and already late in the afternoon, there wasn’t a long line.

What’s different about this race? Why was I so interested? Let me tell you all about the excitement of this event here :D
First, this race had elements you won’t find at other races. When I entered the starting area, we were greeted by wooden shelves filled with neatly arranged vegetables—but participants could only take them after they’d finished the race.

At 5:20, we got the flag-off; the streets started to get crowded, forcing those of us in the back to walk quickly—it wasn’t until about 200 meters in that we could finally start running at a slow pace.

And my first pace was 5:25. This really threw me off—could my Strava be glitching? Because I didn’t think I was running that fast.

At km 2, we had already gotten water at a water station. What sets Amartha apart from other races is that there are many water stations here, located at km 2, 4, 6, 8, and 9. And there’s plenty of water for the participants.

Meanwhile, at the 4 km mark, in addition to water, we also got fried chicken. I thought—based on what was posted on social media—that we’d get fried chicken after finishing, but it turned out to be at the water station!
It wasn’t just at the 4 km mark; fried chicken was available again at the 9 km mark. My friend and I laughed and were happy to get it, so we saved it for later and pushed through the final 1 km.

Finally, we finished happily. Our average pace was 8:23/km. But once again, it seems my Strava was glitching, because it showed 12 km, when it should have been nearly 11 km, with a total time of 1:53:33.

After finishing and receiving my medal, I grabbed some refreshments and the vegetables provided, and then the rest of us took some photos.
