Estas fotos las realice en un taller de retrato que hice en la escuela de fotografía, salimos a un parque y le pedimos permiso a las personas que pasaban para ver si se querían tirar una foto.
I made these photos in a portrait workshop that I did at the photography school, we went out to a park and asked the people passing by to see if they wanted to take a photo.
Generalmente me gusta robar los retratos, buscar la naturalidad de la escena y el momento oportuno. En este trabajo tuvimos que tratar con los modelos ( que son personas comunes, que pasaban por el lugar), y tratar de sacarles expresiones, poses, encuadres...algo a lo que no estaba acostumbrado en ese entonces.
Generally I like to steal the portraits, looking for the naturalness of the scene and the right moment. In this work we had to deal with the models (who are ordinary people, who passed by the place), and try to get expressions, poses, frames... something that I was not used to at that time.
Busque variedad en las edades de cada persona, variar la miradas, los ángulos, y jugar con las expresiones, sobre todo resaltar los ojos, apoyándome en el dicho que dice: los ojos son el reflejo del alma.
Look for variety in the ages of each person, vary the looks, the angles, and play with expressions, especially highlighting the eyes, relying on the saying that says: the eyes are the reflection of the soul.
Para centrar más la vista en los ojos, y en los personajes en si, desenfoque lo más posible el fondo, usando aperturas menores de f/2 en varias ocasiones. Disfrute mucho realizar estas fotos, compartir con otros fotógrafos y también con los personajes que fotografié. Espero que les gusten y un saludo desde Cuba.
To focus more on the eyes, and on the characters themselves, blur the background as much as possible, using apertures smaller than f/2 on several occasions. I really enjoyed taking these photos, sharing them with other photographers and also with the characters I photographed. I hope you like them and greetings from Cuba.
