Reaching 100 years is such an accomplishment especially In an industry where competition is really tough, new brands are emerging and new technology being introduced everyday. As I have researched the company was founded in Japan. Right now the battle between Canon is enormously growing, and Nikon always survived, just like what they have done during the past 100 years – economic change, consumer’s new preferences and don’t forget, the Second World War. And remember Kodak, who once were the top dog in film and camera, Nikon has outlasted all the challenges it faced.
But unfortunately, it has been reported that the company suffered a whopping $450 million loss, mainly due to the decline of its sales, failure to keep up with emerging companies like Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus and who would forget the D600 quality issues that really take a hit at Nikon.
I know the people in Nikon will try to turnaround the situation that the company is experiencing right now. I really do hope that they would like a look at Mirror-less cameras.
I love Nikon, my first camera is a D800, that’s why I hope the company would last another 100 years.
How about you do you own a Nikon Camera, what’s your favorite model and share your settings here.
