Recibí una invitación de los amigos de Fundapatrimonio para asistir a la exposición de Ignacio Arenas, un escultor talentoso de la ciudad de Cumaná, así que dije presente para deleitarme y aprender más sobre este mundo.
Allí nos encontramos una Colección muy interesante, realizada en arcilla y cerámica, dedicada, casi exclusivamente, a los héroes independentistas, podemos observar a Francisco de Miranda en dos figuras, una con la bandera nacional, esta última es de tela para ondear con el viento. En la otra, está postrado en su cama, haciendo referencia a la famosa pintura “Miranda en La Carraca”, cuyo autor es Arturo Michelena, considero que la recreación de dicha escena matizó su esencia, los pequeños detalles están muy bien logrados.
También hallamos a José Francisco Bermúdez, cabalgando su caballo para ir a la batalla, de esta figura, llamó mi atención, la precisión con la que fue elaborado el animal, una imitación meticulosa de los movimientos de uno real. Adicional a esta escultura, se exhibía el difunto presidente de Venezuela Hugo Chávez Frías, acompañado de Antonio José de Sucre y del ilustre Simón Bolívar, a diferencia de las otras, estas no fueron de mi agrado, pues, desde mi visión, les faltó mayor expresividad en los rostros. Del expresidente había una segunda pieza en la cual estaba sentado.
Igualmente, en esta Colección de Estatuillas, tenemos a Genaro Coa, un reconocido pintor de Golindano, nombrado Patrimonio Cultural del estado Sucre en el año 1994. También nos mostraron al famoso cantante Alí Primera con su particular cuatro y su entusiasmo a la hora de entonar sus sentidas letras. La última figura es un autorretrato, un busto del propio Ignacio Arenas, me parece que logró captar sus rasgos de forma eficiente. En definitiva, disfruté esta demostración de gran calidad artística, un trabajo minucioso de moldeado y pintura, donde se observó una incansable y apasionada labor.
