I feel the biggest silver lining is that people are trying to do what is best for Hive, voicing their frustration or stating they would prefered it in an other way is so much more valuable than if they would just left and stayed silent- people still care.

That different stakeholders can have different opinions is exactly what makes the platform so valuable.

Another very very cool feature of Hive is the 13 week unstaking period of hive power. It gives people some time to reflect once they hit the button.
