Preacher is a person who promotes an ideology to the general public. Especially this term is used in religious means. I will try to explain about this in general means and not in any religious perspective. People who provide a speech on a particular topic and make it interesting for the general public can be determined as a preacher. Preacher finds better ways to take the information to the group of audience. They make sure they add all flavors and topping to make it interesting for the audience. It will be sometimes like very interesting when sitting and listening but after going home we may not remember anything. Just that everything that we heard from the preaching goes blank after we move on with our routine. We will understand the concept or maybe like the concept, but we will not be able to justify why we liked it and it will be even more difficult to explain someone what we understood.
When it comes to teaching, it is the responsibility of the teacher to make sure the information provided by them reached the receiver well. A teacher sometimes even carries out you some tests to identify if the student understood the topic/information or not. If they find the student didn't understand the information very well, they will continue to explore different ways to get the Crux of the topic inside the student. This is a repeated task performed by the teacher to ensure whether the student was able to grasp what was thought by the teacher. One should be very lucky to have a good teacher to improve the knowledge and wisdom. But every student may not understand everything in the same way. Some students might need special training to understand certain concepts. It is now the duty of the teacher to teach and train the students accordingly.
The main difference is on the way the information is taken to the audience. Preacher will just take the information to the audience will not worry if it reached every individual or not. The teacher's responsibility is to make sure the information reached the individual correctly. If the teacher identifies that the information did not reach the student well, they will try different methods to make the student understand. In preaching there is no concept of student and all. A teacher is referenced with a student and a preacher is referenced with just listeners. Teachers treat their students in different levels based on their understanding of things and knowledge and wisdom. For a preacher all the members in the audience belong to just one category of listeners. Only a few from the group of listeners will be able to grasp what a preacher is trying to convey. There will also be a group of people from the listeners who follow things blindly without even understanding anything.
