Reflection
Being an ESL student teacher taught me that teaching is not always easy. One of my students was very playful and naughty. Sometimes the child talked while I was explaining, did not listen, and easily got distracted. At first, I felt nervous and frustrated because I wanted the lesson to go well.
As time went on, I realized that getting angry would not help. Instead, I learned to be more patient, calm, and understanding. I tried to make the lessons more fun by using games, pictures, and simple activities to keep the child interested. I also praised the student whenever they behaved well or answered correctly.
This experience taught me that every child learns differently. Some students need more attention, encouragement, and creative teaching strategies. Even though it was challenging, I became more confident and improved my classroom management skills.
Overall, this experience helped me grow as an ESL student teacher. It reminded me that patience, kindness, and flexibility are important qualities of a good teacher. I will continue to improve my teaching skills so I can help all my future students learn in a positive and enjoyable environment.
