Exploration on how you can connect with the supreme starts after you realize that there is supreme conciousness and you are connected with the supreme conciousness. Not every soul is born with a realization in mind. They get their focus only after they understand that body is not the soul. We do have a connection with the soul but we are definitely not the body. The desires and greed are something part of the body. They surface when they are powered by the intensions of mind. If your body is trained well to handle to desires and greed it will be capable of realizing the existence of the soul.
The supreme is the collective conciousness prevailing in this universe governing everything in this Earth. It is not responsible for everything that is happening around us but it becomes a witness on all the things that are happening around us. We are just bits and pieces that emerged out of this supreme conciousness. We may exhibit some of the qualities of the supreme conciousness but we will not be the same. We can establish a connection between the soul and the cosmos. Soul may not be easy to understand but once understood that it is present we will be able to think about creating connection with every object in this world. That is the only thing that can transcend us to a different state.
