I don’t read much recently, but the last book I read was „Creepers“ by David Morrell.
I got recommend to read it from my awesome boyfriend, and if he suggests anything, it has to be good. The abandoned creepy hotel? Yes, I want to read it. So, thank you very much!
As it is published in Estonia 2005, it was no longer in the shops for sale. So I contacted straight to the publisher. And I got it.
In our language, the capture is translated „ Hotel of Horror“ which already sounds „must read“ as I like horror (movies) too much. For me it was, “just one more chapter and then I put it away for tomorrow“, but no. I stayed up almost all night.
The characters are a journalist with mysterious past - Frank Balenger, Professor Robert Conklin, teacher Vincent Vanelli, young married student couple Cora and Rick.
Everyone has something to hide, some more than others. Group of creepers is going to abandon, pyramid-shaped luxury hotel – Paragon Hotel, built by a reclusive architect. This is illegal to do research there, so they have to enter discreetly, not a trace behind. In the night, of course.
Paragon is full of hidden passageways and rooms full of disturbing and scary secrets. And maybe at the same time, there's even a serial killer, some bombs and death traps. Creepers meet mutant rats and a mutant cat in the hotel that was closed in 1968.
Coincidence? Or just mistake of picking the wrong place at the wrong time? Blinded by the dark, walking on rotten floors and stairs they climb higher and higher finding out the past and compare with their new discoveries.
So, if you like a book about terror, danger, fair, sudden changes of situation and death await the creepers in a place ominous and ravaged by time – this book is for you.
