How are you all? I hope you are doing well. Alhamdulillah, I am also doing very well.Today I want to share a very simple and cute DIY wall decoration with you all. I made this decoration using some very simple things that were already available at home. I really enjoy making creative things from old and unused items because it gives them a new and beautiful purpose.For this DIY, I used an old piece of cardboard. Actually, this cardboard was part of one of my children’s toys. The toy had become damaged and was no longer useful. Instead of throwing it away, I thought, why not use this cardboard to make something beautiful for my wall? So I decided to turn it into a cute handmade wall decoration and share the idea with you all.

Things I Used

For this DIY, I needed:
A piece of cardboard
Different colors of clay
Green marker
Other colorful markers
Colored pencils
Pencil and eraser
I used pink, yellow, and green clay for my flowers. You can use any colors you like according to your choice.

Making the Basic Design

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
First, I took the cardboard and decided what I wanted to draw on it. I wanted to make a cute cup with flowers and leaves coming out of it.I started by drawing the cup with a pencil. I used a pencil first because I wanted to make a rough sketch. If I made a mistake, I could easily erase it and try again.
After making the rough sketch, I made some changes until I was happy with the shape. When I felt that the design looked right, I used a green marker to make the outline of the cup.
Then I used a green colored pencil to fill the inside of the cup. I wanted the cup to have a soft handmade look, so I did not try to make it look completely perfect.

Making the 3D Flowers

After finishing the cup, I started working on the flowers and leaves.First, I drew the flowers and branches lightly with a pencil. Then I decided which flowers I wanted to make with clay so they would have a beautiful 3D look.For the yellow flowers, I made small balls from yellow clay. Then I pressed each little ball with my fingers and shaped them like small flower petals. I joined the petals together to make the flower.
For the pink flowers, I used a slightly different method. I made very small balls from pink clay and pressed them flat. Then I joined the pieces together into a long strip. After that, I carefully rolled the clay strip. As I rolled it, the shape started looking like a beautiful little rose.I really liked how these pink clay roses turned out. They made the whole decoration look more colorful and gave it a lovely 3D effect.

Adding the Leaves and Small Flowers

Once my clay flowers were ready, I placed them on the cardboard where I wanted the 3D flowers to appear.
After that, I worked on the branches and leaves. I used a green marker to outline them and then filled some of the leaves with a green colored pencil.There were also some small flowers in my design. I thought that making every single flower with clay might make the decoration look too heavy. So, for the smaller flowers, I decided to use only my markers and colored pencils.I used brown, red, and yellow colors to draw these little flowers. This gave the design a nice balance between the flat drawings and the 3D clay flowers.

Adding the Cute Heart Details

Finally, I added some tiny hearts inside the cup. I think these little hearts made the cup look even cuter and added a sweet little detail to the whole design.And that was it! My simple cardboard wall decoration was ready.

My Final Thoughts

I honestly loved the final result. It may not be perfect, but I believe handmade things do not always have to be perfect. Sometimes, a simple idea made with love and creativity can make us much happier than something expensive.I am also happy that I could reuse something from my children’s old toy instead of throwing it away. It is always fun to give old things a new life and turn them into something useful and beautiful.
This DIY was very simple and I really enjoyed making it. I especially loved adding the little clay flowers because they gave the decoration a beautiful 3D look.I hope you liked my little DIY idea. You can change the colors, flowers, and design according to your own choice and make it completely your own.
