One of my cast rented a space for us to do a full run-through complete with some blocking. They're going to kick so much ass. I wrote the thing, so I already know the jokes, and they made me laugh sooooo much. Both times we ran through, I laughed. I'm officially very excited about this.
We even blocked a bit of the show. I'm definitely still going to be involved. In a bit of a stage hand way. I'll be a shadow figure helping scene transitions.
Now we meet weekly at least, and we'll try to get off-book for the next couple. It's coming together so well. And the timing is amazing. We have 1 hour, so we were aiming for the show to run 45 minutes, and it is almost exactly that. So, provided we need to pause for laughter, which I surely hope we will, we'll definitely have enough time all in.
This has taken so much weight off my chest. I honestly feel much more energetic today because of it. I didn't realize how worried I was about the fact that we hadn't had any full rehearsals.
Relief is delicious.
Today we're going on a journey, Mikey and I, to scout wardrobe items for our respective shows. I need to find some prison-orange fabric. And wigs, if I can.
