Today I bring you a great walkaround across the centre of St.Petersburg, Russia. It took place 4 days ago, actually, and I walked with my steemit friend @madlenfox! (she wrote a great story for her part here). A super cool thing is that it was her 2nd meeting with a steemian 'in real life' -- and the same for me.

We met at the bridge across Fontanka river, the place where thousands of citizen meet. Believe me or not, but I recognized the person who was waiting for me at first sight. I love such coincidences! Looks like we are tuned to one wave, which is a good news for me.
We walked across the channel, and stopped to take pics of nice shadows (now I always remember about @melinda010100 shadow challenges! having some shadow supply will not be an excess).
Some buildings in St.Petersburg are awarded with this special sign, which means: the tenants of this house took an active part in defending Leningrad during the WWII).
At this spot we had a looong discussion about the steemit past and future. There so much I have to know yet. There was a street cafe behind us, I took a few shots. I stand -- people go -- I take shots. Easy-peasy!
Historical part of the city already isnt stretchable, obviously it has no space for new bars and coffeshops. This bar ty to re-use the second floor. Isnt it nice?
Our municipal authorities have a question: how to protect urban space from sticking advertising spam? They adopt some Japanese experience: a while ago, they began to close the drainpipes with protective material you cannot stick your nasty advertisement. Profit! This is 1st time I see it for real.
A lot of surprising stuff can be seen on the streets; should I give any comments on this? it is obvious.... I asked this lady may I take a pic and she proudly agreed. Really an exceptional Yoda!
This plaque indicates the water level during the Big Flood of 1824. The height is just below my breast!
A few very respectable, fashionable buidings from 1910-es 'like they did it before': The Russian Banc, and The Russian Insurance Company.
The Astoria Hotel is one of the most elit, fashionable hotels. There are extra police guarding here: some Top Chief Criminals from the Russian governing elite probably are here today. Hail to the Thief!
And here is @madlenfox herself!
Evening comes, time to part our ways. I took a few more pics... Displays are full of souvenirs: russian dolls, a-la 'Faberge' surprise easter eggs, statues of russian tzars, and a lot more stuff like this. Needless to say, the prices policy is rediculous.
...and here we say final good bye and next time!
ps. actually it was not the end, hehe. When I dive into the tube, I changed my camera settings to monochrome and continued to shoot people, and then when I approached my place, I've spend 2 more hours taking pics. When
the inspiration came to you, theres nothing you can do about it, just relax and submit. Fortunately, I have charged the camera battery well :P So, the black and white part will follow next time.
Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated...
