The thing is, in my country Christmas is being celebrated on January, 7 (yes, its the Russian Orthodox Church to blame for that, not me!) - and we will not be decorating our Christmas tree in mid-December, like the rest of catholic world... I would love to conduct a special photo-session with our collection of glass-blown Christmas tree toys -- but the box is still on the shelves, its a bit early for it.
Instead of that, after the recent walks I decided to make a blog about the city... all the city decorations I see outside on my photo-walks.
On November 27, winter arrived to my city - and decorated it in a way that people still do not have skills for :) It covered the black, frozen land resting from labour with a thick and fluffy, luxurious carpet (which is easy to wash, mind this! very practical, and also environmentally friendly) ...
27 Ноября в мой город пришла Зима - и она украсила город так, как люди еще не умеют :) Она укрыла черную мерзлую отдыхающую от трудов землю толстым и пушистым, роскошным ковром (который легко стирать, заметьте это! очень практично! а также экологично).
Yes, of course, there are difficulties - it has become especially difficult for car owners ... many of them now move around the city only with their personal (!) snow shovels.
Да, конечно, есть трудности - авто-владельцам стало особенно трудно... многие из них теперь перемещаются по городу только со своими личными лопатами (!) для снега...
This house has decorations on its firewall ... the size of the house itself! Sweet.
Этот дом имеет на своем брандмауре украшения... размером с сам дом.

The festival mood can definitely be felt in the air! Stores have decorated their windows long ago ... even small groceries like this - try to do what they can, although the size of the windows and the budget are incomparably small. It is likely in this certain case the seller brought these flickering Christmas tree garlands from home to make her place more pleasant for herself on these pre-New Year's days.
Праздничное настроение определенно витает в воздухе! Магазины давно украсили свои витрины... даже маленькие зеленные лавки - и те стараются сделать что могут, хотя размер витрин и бюджет несопоставимо маленькие. Вполне вероятно, что продавщица принесла эти мерцающие елочные гирлянды из дома, чтобы сделать свое рабочее место приятнее в эти пред-новогодние дни.

I am long in love with the night photography - it transforms city views in amazing way. The same spots, which are already annoy our eyes, mutate ... get a thousand changeable heads, which change all the time - with each light source driving by :)
Я люблю ночную фотографию -- она изумительно преображает городские виды. Тот же самый вид, который уже надоел, мутирует... получает тысячу изменчивых голов, которые все время меняются - с каждым проезжающим мимо источником света :)
The avenue - and it is quite long! - is decorated with luminous garlands along its entire length, which illuminate the street no less than street lanterns.
Проспект - а он весьма протяженный! - по всей длине украшен светящимися гирляндами, который освещают улицу не меньше фонарей.
Entry to a coffee-shop is decorated with this... toys? I cant say what it is. But they were very massive!

Every self-respecting big shopping mall considers its duty to install a Christmas tree with lights to attract consumerist moths of the "Shopoholicus Christmansee" specie.
Каждый уважающий себя торговый центр считает своим долгом установить ёлку с огоньками, для привлечения консумеристских мотыльков вида "Шоппер обыкновенный".
I like this Christmas tree, decorated in "typographic style". Letters of different sizes and randomly, in bulk, will keep the same congratulatory statement. Unusual, and made with a sense of taste, and without fear of causing someone's displeasure - no compromises and "smoothing corners".
Мне приятнее вот такая елка, украшенная "в типографическом стиле". Буквы разного размера и вразнобой, россыпью, сдержат все то же заявление-поздравление. Необычно, и сделано с чувством вкуса, причем без опасения вызвать чье-то неудовольствие - никаких компромиссов и "сглаживания углов".
