HELPFUL TIPS ON HOW TO SURVIVE ON THE HIVE BLOCKCHAIN...
It is indeed a fact that every whale on hive today once started from somewhere, they were also a newbie in the past and for them to become whales today, they must have done or been doing something right to make their hive journey a successful one...
I was once a newbie too and the fact still remains that i am still a newbie because i am still learning something new each and every blessed day, this means i am still a learner here on hive irrespective of the number of months i have been here...
I remember my earlier days on the hive blockchain, to be honest, the life of a newbie is never easy, i almost gave up becoming a full-time hiver because of how hard it was for me to survive in my early day on the blockchain, i had several problems as a newbie but i was only able to pull through because of my mentor @burlarj, this is the man that onboarded me to the hive blockchain and i remember him telling me clearly that this journey won't be easy and i might eventually quit if i can cope or work hard...
I was never afraid to start hiving because i was so determined to make it on the hive blockchain, i never knew how everything is on the hive blockchain until i made my introduction post, and slowly things started unfolding, i started seeing what he was telling about the blockchain in the past...
It got to the point where one of my posts didn't earn a dime, i meant i had $0.00 on my post for good seven days and this was when i sat down to think about what i was doing wrong, i went to my mentor and asked him some questions on how i can survive on this blockchain since he has been around longer than i am, I am sure if he had not been there for me or if he had not given some tips on how to survive over here, I might have given up on hive completely in the first few weeks of hardship...
I had some sessions with him on how he actually survived for this long, he made some things known to me and that was what I needed back then to survive, with his tips and guides I started making a difference day by day, that was how i started doing the right thing slowly and everything started changing for the better, i was getting visibility on my blogs, i was earning something good for a newbie and most importantly i was getting several feedback on my blogs and that was how i added more vigor to what i was doing and before i knew it, a week became a month, a month became six months and lastly, six months became a year and guess what??, today i am earning a minimum of 3$ on my post and at most $20 - $40 when i get special visitation from the whales on the blockchain...
I knew i was doing the right thing and i decided to stick to these strategies and tactics since it worked for the newbies in the past, it worked for me in the past and i am sure it will work for the up-and-coming newbies...

- CONSISTENCY : This is indeed one of the major qualities one must possess to survive on the hive blockchain, hive is not a place to earn free and easy money, life is all about give and take, and in this case, you need to be giving your maximum time and attention to the hive blockchain to survive...
Consistency is required to survive on this blockchain, consistency and hard work play a tangible role in one's growth on the hive blockchain, you need to spend more time on the hive blockchain to know the modulus operandi of the whole space, i spend at least 8-10 hours on the hive blockchain now a day but in the past, i spent at most 12 hours on hive and slowly everyone started observing me and i started making a difference...
The fact is just that some writers think hive is a place where you just write and earn free money without striving hard for it, that is a big lie and if a writer is having such thoughts and views, then he or she is bound to quit any time soon, you have to give your best to the blockchain to expect something in return because that is how it worked both then and now, don’t forget whales weren’t born whales, they were once newbies like you and I and today they are where they are all because they did something right and different…
- QUALITY ENGAGEMENT : Engagement plays a vital role in one's growth and survival on the hive blockchain, there is a big difference between ordinary engagement and quality engagement, one of the things you need to survive on this blockchain is quality engagement skills, you need to get involved with other writers, read and leave a thoughtful comment on their posts, spam comments are not considered a quality engagement, you need to read through every word carefully and leave either a short or lengthy comments on such posts...
Doing this will allow other writers notice you and from there they will start reciprocating your actions and thereby also leaving thoughtful comments on your blogs and from there you gain visibility and new friends, having good friends is the beginning of success on the hive blockchain, for a start, you can engage with at least 10 authors daily and that too in different communities to create awareness and i bet with you, if you do this for several months, you will be experiencing a positive result in no time...
- CONTESTS AND PROMPTS : This particular tip has numerous benefits, when you participate in contests and prompts, your post gets more visibility and engagement especially in communities like the hive learner community, when you join in contests and weekly prompts, other authors tend to visit your blogs and from there, you get to earn this two things, the first thing is new friends and likely curation on your post and to get curated you need to give out your best when writing because quality contents get rewarded if not soon then later, it is how the hive blockchain works, never give up writing quality posts because that is indeed the key to curation from other writers and whales...
- NEW FRIENDS : Friends are indeed important on the hive blockchain, nobody is an island of knowledge which means you need to associate with other writers to get the right knowledge on how to survive on the hive blockchain, friends are very important on the hive blockchain and you can only make more friends when you engage thoroughly, information is passed from people to people and you will only get informed through the friends you make, it is very important...
- UNDERSTANDING YOUR NICHE SKILLS : One of the reasons a lot of writers are failing and not growing today is that they never understood their niche skills, you need to understand and know what you are good at as a writer to succeed, you need to know your strength and weakness when it comes to writing on prompts and contests, you will only survive on this blockchain when you know what you are very good at and i have only been able to achieve all that i have now because i understood my niche skills...
I am good at all topics but i am a little bit weak at finance-related posts but guess what??, i am slowly getting better at finance-related posts and i believe i will get better soon, which means you need to understand your niche skills to succeed here on hive...
- HARD WORK & SETTING GOALS : There is no success without hard work, and there are no achievements without goals and targets, every newbie must have a focus, they must have a path to walk on to survive and it is indeed an obvious fact the benefits of hard work can not be underestimated and I am here because of my hard work, consistency, dedication, and focus and now I am happy to be where I am today...
