This is my first post here so I thought I would just do a little introduction thingy. I'm pretty new to photography. I've only been taking pictures for a couple months now, but it's come pretty naturally to me and I haven't had a lot of trouble finding subjects. I enjoy walking around and finding subjects that I find interesting and taking pictures of them. My composition and editing skills have gotten significantly better recently.
Here's a picture I took on January 17th this year. It's alright. Originally, I had the subject in the center because I hadn't really realized that photographing subjects off-center is better than putting it right in the middle. I still have to fight the urge to do this.
This one was taken on February 4th this year. This is the natural composition.
Sometimes, having the focus point right in the center of the image is good though. I don't totally love this picture, but I enjoy how much is going on as well as the patterns throughout.
If you can't already tell, I love to take macro images. I really like to focus in on small things and appreciate them. Things that most people just skip right over. Even things you see every day can be interesting in the right conditions.
A good example of that is this picture. This blade of grass is in a really big field of grass. It is usually quite boring, but I realized on that day that there was little water droplets on everything. That made me see every previously "boring" subject in a whole new light.
Also, here's a compositional technique I didn't even realize I was using until today. I took this picture last Sunday and wasn't thinking about how this feather was breaking the pattern behind it, only that it was interesting to me.

Anyway, I hope you like the pictures I've taken. I'm going to be doing more series type stuff where I'm taking pictures on a certain thread, so I'll be able to post more specific blogs about what I'm doing.
