Hey friends.
Today I feel like sharing one of my most embarrassing moments ever. All of the flashbacks of the incident still haunt my owners and I, but more recently, we have managed to acknowledge some humor from that single event. I have a passion for hunting things that are smaller than me and that I can easily find in my big yard.
I spotted a busy bee buzzing by the plants in the garden while partaking in my usual activities-catching bugs! It looked so peculiar, I just had to take a bite of it …. And I did so without understanding the pile of consequences I would be faced with later on that day. The bee stung me and out of all the places it could’ve stung me it had done it to my adorable face! Not even minutes later, my cheeks and neck started to tingle and throb with discomfort. My cheeks and neck developed lumps and then the regret and dread finally came crashing down onto me. My owners where frantically doing everything they could to help me feel comforted through all this. Thankfully My owners are smart and eventually figured out what the cause of the “suspicious lumps” were. They proceeded to call the nearby 24-hour vet landline and were then advised to give me a teeny tiny drop of allergex to help ease the reaction. I hate taking medicine eww!... Still I had to make an exception because it was the only option we had. Afterwards I fell asleep soon after and woke up hours later feeling much better as finally the swelling had gone down a bit.
I also woke up a tad bit wiser, yes without a doubt I sure am a wiser pup now. There is an abundance of insect and plant life in my yard as we do not live in a big city, we live in a little neighborhood that is located in an area densely filled with all sorts of forest life- tress, plants, animals, and yes lots of big bad bees! My owners later came across a huge bee hive outside the house high up on the roof ledge and above our window. So that is where they have been all this time? And so many? Well, I never could of possibly noticed such a danger so high above ground, I am a short legged pup after all. I sat and witnessed my owners attempt to remove it ever so cautiously with no tools other than their hands and a broom stick. This was seriously comical to watch due to the fact that my owners dislike any type of creepy crawlies and now here they are facing an active bee hive with their bare hands! It was stuck on the roof ledge thoroughly, I didn’t know bees were this smart. It took a while
for it to eventually crumple and fall off, that’s when they quickly put on gloves on and picked it up for fast disposal. The bees all flew out of the hive during the entire process I saw them flying out 1 and 2 at a time. I am pretty sure they were furious that we had destroyed their home, sadly humans and bees just cannot live comfortably together, oh and dogs, bees and dogs DO NOT get along at all!
My health since then has been great with no issues and I am always active out and about. So, never again will I ever be messing with bees, I had find out for myself what it’s really like and all I can say is that was a lesson learned. This is when I also came to a realization that I in fact have more than one
fear ( bath time) I now have 2 in total. Telling this story gives me a great feeling because not only am I super cute and cuddly I am also a brave and tough pup and yes, I totally am. We are all glad that none of us got seriously hurt by a bee sting and we are all in good health- body and mind that is. I
enjoyed sharing my funny story and I hope you all enjoyed reading it. Thank you friends and I will be sure to share more and more of my fun crazy adventures.!
