We are on cyclonic alert, for a tropical storm that is passing to the west of Cuba a few kilometers from the island.
Actually it does not offer a danger of great damage but abundant rains, so as I should mostly be at home today I decided after doing some exercise to start painting, which is one of the indoor activities I enjoy the most.
The theme this time almost chose me, because on Saturday while I was picking up my work on Prado Street, I took a picture of the Capitol where you could see a cloudy sky and the surrounding streets, which since I saw it seemed to me something super pictorial, so I took the opportunity to make an interpretation of that photograph.
As you know we can't waste anything here, I'm painting on a canvas that I had already used but I didn't like the paint so I'm going to recycle it 馃槄馃槄
I started as usual by separating the areas to get an idea of the proportion and shapes in the format.
I decided to make the Capitol larger and stand out to make it stand out as the central figure of the work.
The oil technique allows us to cover what has already been painted with relative ease, so it was the right one for this piece, I created with brushstrokes the trees and elements that form the Prado promenade, and also the surrounding buildings. I used a reduced palette without so many colors or too many contrasts to create the atmosphere of the cloudy day.
When I had the main buildings and points of interest, I just added some details, some shades, lights and shadows, and the sky was saturated a little to emphasize the clouds and to highlight the golden dome of the Capitol, not something that in real life I like very much but in cloudy days it looks very nice indeed.

Estamos en alerta cicl贸nica, por una tormenta tropical que est谩 pasando al oeste de Cuba a poco kil贸metros de la isla.
En realidad no ofrece un peligro de grandes da帽os pero si abundantes lluvias, as铆 que como mayormente deb铆a estar en casa hoy decid铆 luego de hacer algo de ejercicios ponerme a pintar , que es una de las actividades interiores que m谩s disfruto.
La tem谩tica esta vez casi me eligi贸 a mi , pues el s谩bado mientras recog铆a mis trabajos en la calle Prado , hice una foto del Capitolio donde se ve铆a un cielo nublado y las calles aleda帽as , que desde que la vi mee pareci贸 algo super pict贸rico, as铆 que aproveche la ocasi贸n para hacer una interpretaci贸n de esa fotograf铆a.
Como ac谩 no se puede desperdiciar nada , estoy pintando sobre un lienzo que ya hab铆a utilizado pero no me gust贸 la pintura as铆 que lo voy a reciclar 馃槄馃槄
Empec茅 como siempre separando las 谩reas para llevarme una idea de la proporci贸n y las formas en el formato
Decid铆 hacer el Capitolio que fuera m谩s grande y sobresaliera para hacerlo destacar como figura central de la obra
La t茅cnica del 贸leo nos permite tapar lo ya pintado con relativa facilidad, as铆 que era la indicada para esta pieza , fui creando a golpe de pincelas los 谩rboles y elementos que forman el paseo del Prado, y tambi茅n los edificios circundantes. Utilice una paleta reducida sin tantos colores ni demasiados contraste para crear la atm贸sfera del d铆a nublado.
Cuando ya ten铆a los principales edificios y puntos de m谩s inter茅s , solo fue agravar un poco de detalles, algunos matices, luces y sombras, y el cielo lo sature un poco para enfatizar las nubes y que destacar谩 la c煤pula dorada del Capitolio, no es algo que en la vida real me guste mucho pero en d铆as nublados se ve muy bonita realmente.
