Today I'm here to continue sharing the progress I've made in building a career as a professional tattoo artist. A while ago, I met some new people at a job I was working at, and I had the opportunity to tattoo several of my coworkers; those are the pieces I'm sharing with you today. Hoy he venido a continuar compartiendo los avances que he tenido en este proceso de construir una carrera como artista profesional del tatuaje. Hace un tiempo conocí algunas personas nuevas en un trabajo en el que estaba y se me dio la oportunidad de realizarles tatuajes a varios de esos compañeros de trabajo; esas son las piezas que hoy les vengo a compartir.
Two of my coworkers from that job were relatives and happened to live near where I used to live. One day I offered to give them a tattoo and they accepted. We agreed that I would go to their house and that's what happened. One Sunday, which was my day off from my other job, we met and I tattooed them both and a friend of one of them. Dos de los compañeros de ese trabajo eran familiares y casualmente viven cerca de donde yo vivió, un día les ofrecí hacerles un tatuaje y aceptaron, acordamos que iría a su casa y así fue, un domingo que era el día libre del otro trabajo nos reunimos y los tatué a ellos dos y a una amiga de uno de ellos.
The first tattoo was a Nordic design with runes, which I did on the outside of his hand. It was a bit too much for him; it was only his second tattoo, and the area is very painful. We didn't finish it that day. A couple of weeks later, I touched it up and added a bracelet, but the design still looks incomplete. I'll cover it up in the future because I really didn't like how it turned out. El primer tatuaje fue un diseño nórdico con runas que se lo hice en la parte externa de la mano, pero ese fue un tatuaje un poco exagerado para ese cliente, era la segunda vez que se tatuaba y la zona es muy dolorosa, ese día no lo terminamos. Un par de semanas después lo retoque y le culmine un brazalete, pero igual el diseño quedo incompleto, en el futuro se lo cubro, porque realmente no me gusto el resultado de ese tatuaje.
I tattooed a date on the girl (if I remember correctly it was her mother's birthdate). That was also a complicated job because it required a lot of delicacy and the client kept moving and complaining of the pain. I wasn't very satisfied with that result either, although I haven't been able to see it healed to see how much the thickness of the lines has reduced. A la chica le hice una fecha, (si mal no recuerdo era la fecha de nacimiento de la madre) ese también fue un trabajo complicado, porque requería de mucha delicadeza y la cliente no dejaba de moverse y quejarse del dolor; tampoco quede muy satisfecho con ese resultado, aunque no lo he podido ver ya curado para ver que tanto se redujo el grosor de las líneas.
The third tattoo was a bit more relaxed. This client has a lot of tattoos, so he's used to that discomfort. The design was somewhat common; I feel like I've seen it a lot, but I tried to make it unique for him. I created that composition, but there are many similar designs out there. This result was a bit more satisfying. It still has its flaws, but I feel like I did a decent job. El tercer tatuaje si fue un poco más relajado, ese cliente tiene muchos tatuajes, por ende, ya está acostumbrado a esa incomodidad; el diseño era algo un poco común, siento que he visto este diseño mucho, pero intente hacerlo único para él, esa composición la cree yo, pero hay muchos diseños por ahí muy parecidos. este resultado si fue un poco más satisfactorio, igual tiene sus errores, pero siento que pude hacerlo bien.
I know that each new piece I create will be a challenge to overcome, one that will directly address my weaknesses and help me grow as a tattoo artist.
