Just as I have said in previous publications, I have been collaborating for 2 years with an artistic project called La Macolla Creativa, this project has several objectives, but in the line of research where we are focusing most is on weaving, here I show you what we have been doing with natural fibers. Today I come to share another dynamic that we do with fabric, but in this case with PVC fiber, we restore aluminum lounge chairs and give them a second chance to fulfill their function. As铆 como he contado en anteriores publicaciones, llevo 2 a帽os colaborando con un proyecto art铆stico llamado la Macolla Creativa, este proyecto tiene varios objetivos, pero en la l铆nea de investigaci贸n en donde nos estamos enfocando m谩s es en el tejido, aqu铆 te muestro lo que hemos estado realizando con fibras naturales. Hoy les vengo a compartir otra din谩mica que realizamos con el tejido, pero en este caso con fibra de PVC, restauramos sillas tumbonas de aluminio y le damos una segunda oportunidad de cumplir su funci贸n.
This dynamic has the name "come back to life" and it is about that, we buy, or the owners of the sun loungers bring us the chairs so that we can bring them back to life with a complete restoration. but for this dynamic we work precisely with this model of aluminum and folding loungers, they are very common here in Venezuela, that is why we frequently receive one or another chair to be restored. Esta din谩mica tiene como nombre "vuelve a la vida" y se trata de eso, compramos, o los due帽os de las tumbonas nos traen las sillas para que nosotros les devolvamos la vida con una restauraci贸n completa. pero para esta din谩mica trabajamos precisamente con este modelo de tumbonas de aluminio y plegables, son muy comunes aqu铆 en Venezuela, por eso con frecuencia nos llega una que otra silla para ser restaurada.
On this occasion two loungers arrived, we have already designed a perfect fabric so that the chair can continue to be deployed or stored without damaging the PVC warp with which we make the fabric. En esta ocasi贸n llegaron dos tumbonas, ya tenemos dise帽ado un tejido perfecto para que la silla pueda seguir siendo desplegada o guardada sin da帽ar la urdimbre de PVC con el que hacemos el tejido.
I wove one chair and Moises (a partner in the project and a brother that art has given me) wove the second; each had its own color palette in the fabric design combination. That is the most fun thing about working with PVC fiber, since there is a huge variety of colors and that allows you to create endless color combination possibilities, to combine chairs or woven objects with everything. Yo tej铆 una silla y Moises (un compa帽ero del proyecto y un hermano que el arte me ha regalado) teji贸 la segunda; cada una ten铆a su propia paleta de colores en la combinaci贸n del dise帽o de tejido. Eso es lo m谩s divertido de trabajar con la fibra de PVC, ya que hay much铆sima variedad de colores y eso permite crear un sin fin de posibilidades de combinaci贸n de colores, para combinar las sillas o los objetos tejidos con todo.
This was the result of two continuous days of work weaving a folding lounger to give it a good restoration and bring it BACK TO LIFE for many more years. In this project we are always doing incredible things, step by step I will share with you those types of activities that we do; I hope you liked this experience, good vibes. Este fue el resultado de dos d铆as continuos de trabajo tejiendo una tumbona plegable para hacerle una buena restauraci贸n y que VUELVA A LA VIDA por muchos a帽os m谩s. En este proyecto siempre estamos realizando cosas incre铆bles, paso a paso les ir茅 compartiendo ese tipo de actividades que realizamos; espero que les haya gustado esta experiencia, buenas vibras.
