I recently embarked on a new adventure in my career as an artist, as I began to delve into body art with the tattoo technique. Step by step, I've been learning and improving in this process. I've been adapting my studio room to be able to do this work, but I've been realizing that to continue advancing and growing in this field, I need to invest in several tools and furniture that will allow me to work more comfortably. I need to acquire an armrest, a stretcher, and lamps to improve the lighting, of course, among other things, but this one I named is the most important thing. Since I'm a bit short on capital, I decided to create the furniture I need myself, so I started with the armrest.
Hace poco inicie una nueva aventura en mi carrera como artista, ya que comenc茅 a introducirme en el arte corporal con la t茅cnica del tatuaje, paso a paso he ido aprendiendo y mejorando en este proceso, he ido adaptando mi habitaci贸n estudio para poder ejercer esta labor, pero me he ido dando cuenta que para seguir avanzando y creciendo en este 谩mbito, requiero invertir en varias herramientas y mobiliarios que me permitan trabajar con mayor comodidad; necesito adquirir un apoya brazos, una camilla y l谩mparas para mejorar la iluminaci贸n, claro entre otras cosas m谩s, pero esto que nombre es lo m谩s prioritario. Como ando un poco corto de capital he decidido crear yo mismo esos mobiliarios que necesito, as铆 que comenc茅 con 茅l apoya brazos.
An armrest at an official store is priced at $50, the cheapest, so I decided to make it from scratch, but I didn't want it to look so makeshift. Searching online, I found a store that sold these tripods for horns, priced at $7. I thought it was super cheap, so I bought it; it was the only thing I spent money on.
Un apoyabrazos en una tienda oficial tiene un precio de 50 d贸lares el m谩s econ贸mico, as铆 que decid铆 crearlo desde cero, pero no quer铆a que se viera tan improvisado; buscando por internet encontr茅 una tienda que vend铆a estos tr铆podes que son para cornetas y ten铆an un precio de 7 d贸lares, me pareci贸 super econ贸mico y lo compre, fue en lo 煤nico que invert铆 dinero.
Once I had the base, I just needed to create a piece that would allow me to attach a small padded cushion to the tripod. Searching through all the paraphernalia I have around the house, I came across an old exercise machine I've abandoned in the yard and found a piece that seemed appropriate for my lens. I just had to make a few cuts with the grinder to modify it and adapt it to my needs.
Ya teniendo la base, solo ten铆a que crear una pieza que me permitiera colocarle un peque帽o coj铆n acolchado al tr铆pode; buscando entre toda la parafernalia que tengo en la casa, me encontr茅 con una m谩quina de hacer ejercicios vieja que tengo abandonada en el patio y le saque una pieza que me pareci贸 apropiada para usarla en mi objetivo. Solo ten铆a que hacerle algunos cortes con el esmeril para modificarla y adaptarla a mi necesidad.
I drilled a couple of holes in the top of the tripod's central tube so I could insert the screws that secure the piece I just created to hold the cushion. The piece was created with the intention of being able to adjust its angle to change the position of the cushion.
Le abr铆 par de orificios a la parte superior del tubo central del tr铆pode para poder introducir los tornillos que fijen la pieza que acabo de crear para colocar el coj铆n. la pieza fue creada con la intenci贸n de que se le pueda ajustar el 谩ngulo para modificar la posici贸n del coj铆n.
Then I looked for a piece of wood (MDF) in my arsenal to use as the base of the cushion, cut it to the size that was most comfortable for me, and installed it on the piece I created to present the armrest and see how it looked.
Luego busque una madera (MDF) entre mi arsenal, para usarla como la base del coj铆n, la corte a la medida que se me hac铆a m谩s c贸moda y la instale en la pieza que cree para presentar 茅l apoya brazo y ver como quedaba.
At university, I told a friend about the project I was working on, and she offered to help me upholster the cushion. She works with textiles and had the tools to do the upholstery easily. She only asked me to chamfer the edges of the wood so she could focus on the rest. The next day, she delivered the finished cushion to me, and it turned out beautifully. She did a superb job.
En la universidad le coment茅 a una amiga del proyecto que estaba realizando y ella se puso a la disposici贸n para ayudarme a tapizar el coj铆n, ya que ella trabaja con lo textil y ten铆a las herramientas para realizar el tapizado con facilidad; solo me exigi贸 que biselara los bordes de la madera para que ella solo se dedicara a hacer lo dem谩s. Al d铆a siguiente me entrego el coj铆n ya listo y quedo muy bien, hizo un trabajo super profesional.
Paint the piece you created black and the screws, so it would be the same color as the tripod, then attach it to the cushion and assemble everything.
Pinte la pieza que cree de color negro y los tornillos, as铆 quedar铆a del mismo color del tr铆pode, para luego fijarla al coj铆n y ensamblarlo todo.
This was the final result of my DIY project. Now I have my own armrest. Step by step, I'll acquire all the tools I need to improve the quality of my work in this new field I'm exploring. My next project will be to create the stretcher. I already have an idea for how I'm going to make it. I'll be posting that project soon. I hope you enjoy this post. Good vibes.
Este fue el resultado final de mi proyecto de bricolaje, ahora tengo mi propio posa brazos, paso a paso ir茅 adquiriendo todas las herramientas que necesito para mejorar la calidad de mi trabajo en este nuevo 谩mbito que estoy incursionando; mi pr贸ximo proyecto ser谩 crear la camilla, ya tengo la idea pensada de como la voy a realizar, pronto estar茅 publicando ese proyecto.
