My family and I were invited to a baby shower this weekend, so I needed to find a suitable shop to pick out a gift. I decided to visit Ilahui—a store I’ve always liked but hadn't been to in a while. It has a very "kawaii" concept (that cute Asian style), so I figured I’d have no trouble finding something appropriate for the baby on the way. There were plenty of super cute items, like stuffed animals and toys, but I was looking for something more functional and practical; not that toys aren't important for development, but for at least the first three months, the baby will need something more functional.
Este fin de semanas mi familia y yo estuvimos invitados a un Baby Shower, así que me vi en la necesidad de buscar una tienda adecuada para elegir un regalo, así que fui a una tienda que siempre me ha gustado pero que tenía tiempo sin visitar, se trata de Ilahui, la tienda tiene un concepto muy kawaii, ya saben, ese estilo tierno asiático, así que tal vez no me costaría encontrar algo adecuado para un bebé que viene en camino. Había muchas cosas super tiernas como peluches o juguetes, pero yo estaba buscando algo más funcional y acorde, no es que los juguetes n sean importante para su desarrollo, pero al menos durante los tres primeros meses él necesitará algo más funcional
To be honest, I got tired of looking for something suitable for the baby—and unfortunately, I didn't find it at that store—but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the visit; I really did. The only thing I didn't like was that the stationery section was much less stocked than before; they used to carry more items, including art supplies like canvases and easels. Still, I did find a few interesting things, like notepaper, pens, colored pencils, and so on. They also had some small notebooks that struck me as a good gift option, though for an occasion other than a baby shower, haha.
La verdad es que me cansé de buscar algo apropiado para el bebé y lamentablemente no lo encontré en esa tienda, pero eso no significa que yo no haya disfrutado el recorrido, lo disfruté y muchísimo, lo único que no me gustó es que encontré la zona de papelería mucho menos llena que antes, es decir, antes tenían más artículos, incluso material para arte como lienzos y caballetes, pero aún así encontré algunas cositas interesantes como hojas para notitas, bolígrafos, lapice de colores, etc, también tenían unas libretitas que me parecieron una buena opción e regalo pero para una ocasión distinta a un baby shower jaja
Do you see that capybara over there? At first, I thought it was just a figurine—something made purely for decoration—but no, it turned out to be a lamp. That’s right, it’s a beautiful lamp. It might have been a great gift for the baby on the way, but the problem was the price—hehe, it was very expensive.
¿Ven ese capibara de ahí? Al inicio yo creí que solo se trataba de un muñeco y ya, hecho para decorar un espacio pero no, se trataba de una lámpara, así es, se trata de una preciosa lámpara, tal vez hubiese sido una gran opción para regalar al bebé que viene en camino pero el problema era el precio, jeje era muy costosa
There are lots of quirky little things in that shop, as well as many items that are both functional and decorative—take those porcelain mugs, for instance; they’re lovely and look like high-quality pieces. Personally, the "kawaii" style isn't my favorite, but I really like the store because it offers so many gift options; there’s a bit of everything, including a section for Asian makeup and cosmetics (which are said to be the best).
Hay muchas cositas curiosas en esa tienda y también muchos elementos que pueden ser tan funcionales como decorativos, por ejemplo esas tazas de porcelana, son muy bonitas y además se ven de buena calidad, personalmente el estilo kawaii no es mi favorito pero me gusta mucho la tienda porque ofrece muchas opciones para regalar, es que hay de todo un poco, incluso hay una sección de maquillaje y cosméticos asiáticos (los cuales se dice que son los mejores)
Anyway, even though I didn't find anything suitable there for the baby shower gift, I liked the shop because it offers many more options for other occasions; plus, it’s a spacious place with a nice vibe.
Y bueno, a pesar de que yo no encontré allí algo acorde para regalar al bebé en el baby shower, me gustó la tienda porque ofrece muchas más opciones para otras ocasiones, además es un lugar amplio y con una vibra agradable.
