Hello everyone. This weekend, I decided to drop by a local race event organized by the Catania supermarket network right here in my city. Even though I didn't join in as a runner this time around, I wanted to head down, check out the atmosphere, and root for a few friends and acquaintances who were competing.
I ended up arriving a bit late to the venue. By the time I got there, both the 5K and 10K runs had already wrapped up, and the recreational walk—which was a huge hit with the seniors—was just finishing up near the finish line. As I walked into the main area, I noticed the entire place was lined with sponsor booths, stages, and emergency response tents from local police, firefighters, paramedics, and civil protection teams. Since the whole event took place along the city's boardwalk near the shore, tons of local businesses set up shop to promote their products through games, free samples, and interactive activities.
It turned out to be a great fitness initiative for the weekend, though the only drawback with these early morning events is how quickly they pass—and by 7 AM, the sun was already turning up the heat. Overall, it was awesome to see everyone enjoying the races, the walk, the outdoor dance therapy sessions, and the general positive energy shared between the athletes and the crowd. Here are a few shots I took during the event!
Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts! Until next time!
