Waiting

i waited for you
in all of these places:
My bedroom,
The high top,
That thing at that place,
Your day dream
My mother's wish,
My fathers fear,
Your sisters curiosity,
I sat nicely, spoke sweetly
You never showed up
I kept waiting, I kept waiting
Eventually i tired
Eventually
The moon dulled
Time grew crooked
And my head grew straight
But mostly the sun
Shone through
Filled my mouth
With all sorts of bright thing
To chew over
