Overreaction can be said to be an excess reaction or response to a situation or something, it could also be defined as the reaction with inappropriate emotional behavior to an action. In basic terms it is having emotional reaction out of proportion in relative to the situation at hand. And it could be internal or external, external in the sense that you begin to shout, get angry, been pissed up at the people around you, while internal overreaction just involves basically your emotions.
I know each and everyone of us have a story to tell of how they over reacted to a situation, something, someone sometimes ago. Let me share a short personal story with you of how I overreaccted sometime ago. There was this program in my church "over and above". So I invited my musical group to come perform and be a blessing to us. I told the coordinator of the program a day before about it he said he would make a slot for them, on the day I reminded him he said cool there is a slot for them as a matter of fact he told me when they would come up. Hours into the program he did not call them up p I was wondering I decided to go remind him maybe he forgot, only for him to tell me there was not enough time for them that maybe the next day he would fix them up. At that moment I got soo pissed, angry and disappointed, I lost all motivation to play the guitar, I just sat down annoyed and angry. The normal me would just work up to him and pour out my fury for such disappointment, but I decided to just sit down and wallow in my sorrows. But to my greatest surprise they were called up at the latter part of the program and it was an awesome performance. This unexpected smile came up p my face and I came back to the real me. After the event I reminisced on all that happened and I imagined if I had reacted more than my internal over reaction and are it external what would have happened. I just though me to always keep my cool at all times, no matter the news or annoying happenings around me.
We overreact from time to time as a matter of fact sometimes we can't help it but it's really dangerous or bad to make it an habit. This are some tips that would help you reduce or remove over over reacting habits.
**1. Know the difference between reacting and overreacting **
