BC L3D9 - What life would I like to give to your kids/future kids?
When you have a child you want to give him everything that you lacked in childhood. You want to teach him to play, have fun and enjoy his childhood!
I want to bequeath my son a happy childhood, the confidence - which I lacked when I was little, the strength to stand up for himself and to hold his own opinion. I want him to grow up to be a man of value for whom honour, a man's word and a promise are very important and that he should keep them. I want to show him what true love is between two people - a father and a mother, the relationships in the family so that when he grows up one day he can find happiness like me and his father.
I want him to be free and not be embarrassed to voice his opinion or defend himself verbally if he has to, and if he has to defend himself physically his father will be there to help.
We all come from different families with different relationships within them and values. I want to show him that when the family is together even the biggest problem you are in there is a solution.
We are not rich, so I want to show him and teach him to value money. Yes in Bulgaria there is a quote that goes around "pleasure has no price" but it is not true. Let's teach him that it's not worth it when you have more valuable ideals, to go out one night with friends and splash all your salary in restaurants and discos.
I want to teach him that expressing your opinion is not bad. Personally, I was brought up to "concede" to others, to acquiesce in argument. But over the years of injustices I have learned that when you are right in your assertions and have some evidence for them you have to defend or stand your ground. Sometimes this is a good approach sometimes not, but you are left with the clear knowledge that what you have said is not a lie and you are not misleading anyone.
I want to teach him and his dad that there is nothing good about lying. It may not happen in the moment but in time the truth comes out and the consequences can be very great. We're not talking about "who broke the glass - the cat broke it (and we don't even have a cat in the house)" kind of stuff, those "little lies" are fine with me, but the bigger ones like seeing him hit someone and lying to my face that the other kid only hit himself - that's not okay. I want to teach him that every action has a counter and a result.
I want to give him the opportunity to live his life to the best of his ability!
