While working on project burner, I wanted to reduce the amount of bookkeeping necessary for damage over time (DoT) effects. I wanted to have something physical and tactile over keeping track with pen and paper, or having to rely on an external automated system. I came up with a little spinner that has a dial for how much damage the DoT inflicts, then a second dial for the number of rounds remaining on the damage over time effect. From preliminary testing, it helps to have use a paper clip to secure the top three circles when dialing in or decrementing the round count. Outside of a paperclip, a thumbtack or brass tack is recommended to fix the wheels together. The center of each circle is marked with a dot, which should help with alignment. The cover image is from an earlier printing, which has since be resized to fix the overlap issue.

Set up is easy. Print out in portrait format, cut out the circles, punch a hole in the center of each circle, then assemble the damage over time spinner.
