Adventuring to The Pacific North West!? My recommendation!
There are many things to do when you travel up to the PNW(pacific northwest). The PNW consists of mostly Oregon State, and Washington State. There is so much to do, but for this post ill mostly focus on Washington State, Seattle!
If you’re planning to adventure over to Seattle, i personally would recommend venturing here in the Summer. I don’t think you can really beat the views and the climate here in the summer. Perfect 70 degrees weather, if you like jeans and a t-shirt look no further!
#1 on my list. The Seattle aquarium! The Seattle aquarium is unlike any other i have been to. it uses the seawater from the Puget sound (the water surrounding Seattle) for its tanks, and is mostly about every aquatic creature in Washington. From the huge salmon runs and the anemones all the way up to the mighty Orcas (my wife’s favorite) you can find it all here! Located right on the water this place is the best!
my Wife, Mom and i outside the Seattle Aquarium.
#2 The Seattle Market! Now this place is really something special, and I hope you brought your appetite. From the giant amounts of fresh seafood to the amazing hand crafter products these artists make, you can find it all! little raincoats for your dogs and fresh honeycomb, oh and don’t forget the first Starbucks! (the line is always out the door so I would recommend just going to the other Starbucks a 2 minute walk away hahah)
Me and my Wife at the Farmers Market looking at a lame outfit for our dog haha
#3 Deception Pass. Located on Whidbey Island, Deception Pass is about 2 hours north of Seattle. if you want to get lost in some places in the middle of nowhere, you definitely can up there! It’s also pretty fun to take the ferry onto the island and enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate. Enjoy all of the Beautiful scenery up on Whidbey Island, where at every turn there is a new hike! But watch out for night time, there is a lot of deer, and feeding your car deer isn’t very good for it!
me and my Mom at Deception Pass state park after a nice hike enjoying the view from a small island!
#4 Mt. Baker. at 10, 781ft tall, Mt. Baker in my eyes is the most beautiful AND fun. if you do manage to venture anywhere from thanksgiving to march, the skiing on Mt. Baker is among the best skiing I have ever experienced. And skiing is my favorite thing to do! But if you do find yourself up there in the summer, you can experience it all! 90 degree weather with snow, its amazing! Take your fishing pole up there because the mountain lakes on those hikes are loaded with trout! And bring a bag, because the blueberries are delicious!
My Mom, Dad, Wife and Dog all up on Mt. Baker.
Baker in the Summer. Just absolutely Beautiful!
My adventure Puppy Up on Baker. Those snow piles in the distance saved her life it was so hot out!
#5 Bellingham. If you like the occasional beer and party scene/night life, Bellingham is about 2 hours 30 minutes north of Seattle. The bigger college town has all the micro brews you could imagine, and quite a few night clubs! I recommend Bellingham more than Seattle for the night life because you can expect a Coors light to be about $6 in Seattle, while in Bellingham about $2.50. Not saying I drink Coors all the time but hey, if the mountains are blue!
In Washington State there is Plenty of things to do. Breathtaking views after an intense hike, awesome people around every corner and enough fresh seafood to fill your belly for the entire trip! I hope you enjoyed and feel free to ask more questions about where to go and what to eat! thanks!
