After spending a long rough week, I have decided to relax this weekend. Complete rest, no work, no stress, and not even household work. Somehow I became bored with my monotonous life and I felt that I should do something for myself to make myself happy and to refresh my mind. I wanted to go out, maybe for winter skiing but my friends were not available and because of their unavailability, I decided to do something for myself. It's very important for us to give ourselves some time and let our body-brain relax.
Many people suggested meditation and I admire those suggestions. I started working on myself and instead of paying attention to other things, I am more focused on myself. Life is short and I personally feel this is my time because maybe I will dedicate my all-time to my own family in near future. Easy equation: Future is uncertain and there will be a moment in my life where I will be more focused on my own family rather than myself. So, I guess that right time is now...
My dad always ask me what exactly keeps me so busy, I don't have any answer or maybe I don't wanna answer him. Nobody gonna understands an immigrant lifestyle. I wonder how people managed time to involve themselves in different social media platforms because I don't get enough time to interact on social media and I am very bad when it comes to handling different social media accounts. Sometimes some social media profiles seem toxic to me... Don't know why...
The weekend is incomplete without good food and lets me tell you I am not a good cook. My presentation sucks, rubbish and I only can cook some specific Bengali foods which I usually eat. I tried to bake but ended up in a complete disaster. I tried to make steak but became a fail project as the meat was overcooked. Plus I never try to show my cooking skill because that is my weak point. I would say my boyfriend is a good cook than me when it comes to preparing different types of food except for bengali food.
Before going to the dessert part, let me share what I have ordered as appetizers and main courses. I have ordered food from the nearest takeaway shop which is really good for steaks. The restaurant is known as "Fish and Meat" and the price is reasonable. Atleast for once a month, this is really a good restaurant to enjoy food.
So, here is the weekend meal for 2 people and of course my dog Gigi was not allowed but I gave her special boneless chicken. I have ordered baked grilled tomatoes, grilled zucchinis, and grilled chicken breast pieces, wings, and 2 beef filley. I have tasted their food before and without any doubt, I can order their food again and again...
I like both boneless and bone chicken pieces because I am a chicken lover. I had bread at home so I have ordered food according to two people's meals. Their delivery service was quick and they delivered the food within 30 minutes after my order. Look at those juicy chicken, they looked mouthwatering though my food photography is worst.
When I am hungry I don't care about taking pictures, I like to enjoy my food. I love to taste different types of Halal food plus my one and only criteria are it has to be good food...
This one is the beef fillet which was so juicy, tender, and medium-rare...
After finishing the main course, I gave focus on the dessert part. This is 3 layered dessert that almost looks like tiramisu but it was not. I bought it from the nearest superstore and I thought it's red velvet cake when I first saw it. But this is actually a cherry cake with a lot of whipped cream which looks really tempting and sensational.
But.... The main fact is the cake layer. The entire dessert is full of whipped cream which fades the actual taste of the cherry cake. Instead of calling it a cherry cake, I better mention that it was a crumble of cherry cake which was disappointing.
It was not actually bad but I was expecting flavored cherry cake instead of just whipped cream. Will I purchase it again? No, I am not going to buy it again...
After my experience, I would say looks matter but in terms of food, the taste matters most than their looks...
This was all about my Saturday... How about you??
