I am not a sweet tooth but I love tasting new types of dessert. But honestly, I always give preferences to my own choices and not all kinds of desserts are for me. Mostly turned out disaster flavorwise and as I am not a caramel lover so I always avoid caramel desserts or caramel based recipe. Don't know why I hate caramel so much, maybe because of the sticky texture. So, you see my options are limited and I mostly prefer vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavor. I am an ice cream lover and during summer, ice cream feels like heaven. Almost every day I eat ice cream and don't know what is going to happen with my tooth.
This Sunday I was craving for something sweet and cold. Of course, it has to be ice cream but I didn't want myself to be limited to it. In Kharkiv, there are various types of desserts are available but most of them are not for me. I don't like berries, I don't like caramels so my options are only limited to some specific fruit flavors, chocolates, and vanilla.
Before talking about the dessert, let me share the background story. Suddenly we (me and my partner) decided to go to the riverbank and wanted to spend some time there. Basically, my guy wanted to swim in the river. So, we decided to go to the nearest riverbank. First, we wanted to go to Stelka but later we changed our plan and went to the nearest summer house complex. 20 minutes drive from the city and also they have some nice desserts on their menu. Also, I wanted to have a nice cold cocktail as well.
The restaurant area was almost full and a lot of people were chilling there. Most of them went on vacation and having drinks, shisha there. My guy instantly ordered Shisa and started smoking while I was looking at the Russian menu. It takes a lot of time to understand the Russian/ Ukrainian menu as I translate them all the time.
After a lot of research, I have finally ordered a fruity ice cream dessert. The waitress gave me a nice smile and told me to wait for 10 minutes. Hmm...
The plating looked wonderful. I know presenting dessert properly is an art and it requires a lot of effort. So many elements are added to it. So, you can understand it's a festive plate with a lot of elements including fruits and ice cream.
They have served both vanilla and chocolate ice cream with a hip of cream foam. I am not a fan of creams besides they use those creams that are available in the market.
The plate was full of Kiwi, red seedless grapes, and strawberries, unfortunately, no banana which I was expecting. If I talk about details, they put chocolate chips, mint leaves, the dust of white sugar, and unfortunately caramel syrup...
I won't say I didn't enjoy the dessert but I won't say it's delicious. According to the price, it was okay and as I have said I am not a fan of caramel and cream so, it was an okay dessert for me.
My partner has ordered Tiramisu. The presentation was quite impressive and I really loved the chocolate twill, 6 drops of dark chocolate syrup, and cocoa powder. The dust of white sugar elevated the presentation a lot though I think strawberry was not necessary at all.
Unfortunately, in Kharkiv, I have never tasted nice Tiramisu, I guess their recipe is different and not my style which I personally prefer...
I took a bite from the plate and the texture was quite nice and the flavors were there too. The layer of the cake was soft and as a tiramisu cake, it was fine.
My partner seemed like enjoyed his dessert and in the end, he gave me the chocolate twil to taste, and honestly, it was nice and delicious...
And of course, in the end, I ate the strawberry slice.
After finishing the dessert, we sat there for some time, enjoyed the sunset, walked on the beach, and came back home.
Presentation: 9/10
Taste: 7/10
Price: 7/10
Desserts are expensive here that's why I don't taste them regularly. But whenever I get the chance I don't hesitate to pay for a nice dessert.
Until next time... Have a nice day everyone...
