I have always believed that when you practice something, you will get it done in a good way. I also believe that it is not until you go out there to pay someone for learning a skill before you can learn something because there are many videos on YouTube you can watch and do what you need to do..... “don't believe most of them though“ 😂😂😂
Have you ever risked saving someone and because you don't know what to use or apply, you decided to watch some videos on what to do from YouTube? You are only causing more problems because if such a person needs urgent treatment and you take your time watching “how-to” on YouTube. You might lose a life.
I learnt how to make liquid soap by watching videos on YouTube and the first time, I did it perfectly. I was so happy that I believed there's nothing you need to learn that isn't on YouTube.
Then, I decided to start making some snacks. I started with ChinChin and doughnuts. I made mistakes on the first attempt, but on the second attempt, it turned out perfect.
I became so excited because I didn't pay any money to learn all of these but just my time and data watching online.
I saw my younger sister made puff puff one day and I didn't ask her how she made it. I said to myself “Youtube is there for me”.
I looked forward to making it for the first time as I was forming and making a mouth for my friends that I can make puff puff even when I haven't tried it before.
Then, the day came for me to put into practice something I never tried before but already formed for friends and neighbours. I told them of the other snacks and liquid soap I learned on YouTube, so Puff Puff can never be exempted.
I bought all the ingredients and was now ready to get onto business.
As I was preparing those ingredients, I was having bad thoughts “what if I didn't get this right? What will happen?” I became nervous as I was in the process but I braced myself up and tried to stay positive as I kept taking away those “what ifs?”.
As I was doing that, I was going back to YouTube to remember the process again. At this time, I already locked myself inside so, no one would come in to see the mess I was in.
I mixed up the flour and other ingredients and covered the dough with nylon for a few hours.
I opened it as I became restless and anxious to see what it looks like. I started mixing again and I poured some olive oil into a frying pan.
I was told that once I start putting it bit by bit in the hot oil, the puff puff would be rising but mine didn't rise.
By this time, I was sweating and I became nervous. I was feeling pressed but I didn't want to open the door because I know those around me, will enter into my room to see the whole shit I have made.
I was looking at my puff puff not rising. I quickly called my sister
I explained everything to her and she asked “did you allow the oil to heat up very well?” I said yes.
She said I might not allow the oil to heat up very well before putting the puff puff or perhaps the amount of yeast wasn't enough.
I dropped the call and packed the ones in the oil. The flour has swallowed all my oil. I managed the remaining oil for the others but it was a total mess.
When I showed them my result, they couldn't stop laughing. There were a lot of errors in what I did.
No much sugar
The oil is too much as they were just eating oil and not puff puff.
I don't know how to describe my homemade puff puff because I ended up wasting everything.
