Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Jesus died so that we may live. Through his perfect obedience to God, Jesus gave himself as a perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. The Trinitarian tradition says that Jesus is God. This goes against the Scriptures.
God is eternal and all mighty. He is the sustainer of all life; God cannot die. Jesus was a man, but not just any man; He was the one chosen by God to be our redeemer. He was the perfect man begotten of God. Jesus died a true death and God raised him from the dead. God cannot die nor sacrifice himself.
Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Jesus cannot be God and we must understand this to understand our relationship with God and the key to our salvation in Jesus Christ. By one man sin entered the world and by one man are we redeemed from it; Jesus is that man.
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
