Hi Everyone
My greetings to you all
Hope you are doing well
In India, Nature is signified as the mother, so called as Mother nature. And so many trees, plants, animals are considered sacred here. But one most important thing is that there is always some kind of scientific logic behind everything that is considered sacred in ancient times.
So here today I have come with a tree, commonly known as Peepal tree in Indian society while it's botanical name is Ficus Religious, Sacred fig.
So Sacred fig is a species of fig native to the Indian Subcontinent and Indochina.
This tree is a big tree when fully grown with a large lifespan ranging average between 900 to 1500 years. And also it is so resilient that it may grow anywhere even in concrete walls you may easily spot it.
Peepal tree is also known as Bodhi tree as under this tree Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment and so this tree is considered sacred in Buddhism too.
Why Peepal has given so much importance in India
Ayurveda (traditional science of medical treatment in India) has used each and every part of Peepal in treating more than fifty disorders in human body. For more details regarding the use of various parts of Peepal in treatment, you may click here.
Peepal tree emits 2400 kgs of Oxygen in a day for 1800kgs intake of Carbon dioxide. People tree release more oxygen in early hours that is the logic behind circumambulating the tree as a mark of worship. As the intake of fresh oxygen rich air in the morning help strengthen the body's immune system.
That's all for today
