Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report. We are onto a new week, headed towards mid September. Hopefully you had or are having a great day.
Mine has been ok and it's now time to break it down including the trending stories. You definitely know the drill 😹. Thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look, common💨.
So today I didn't have my morning walk, instead I handled the the house chores and kept following the trending stories.
My first walk came around noon, going to the grocery for some cooking ingredients.
It was a nice cloudy day, a little warmer than yesterday though. I walked a little further to the pharmacy picking up some prescriptions.
Anyways, my last walk was this evening enjoying the cool evening breeze around the neighborhood.
So then now let's look at the trending stories.
In the middle east, Gaza trending as the killing continued🙀. 33 Palestinians were killed across the strip as Israeli airstrikes kept going 😿.
The new school year is beginning but not for students in Gaza😿. Most schools have been destroyed and the remaining ones used as shelters by displaced Palestinians.
Meanwhile, the polio vaccination campaign is ongoing with the target of vaccinating close to 640,000 children below ten. WHO says if they can get to 90% of that number then polio will be eliminated💯.
Not far off, hundreds of people are stranded at the Allenby border crossing between Jordan and the west bank.
Border closed after three Israeli guards were killed by a Jordanian gunman yesterday🙀.
In the UK, the royal family trending as Kate Middleton or princess of Wales released a video. She announced the end of her chemotherapy and likely return to some public duty. Congratulations 🎉 to her for beating cancer. Giving hope and encouragement to lots of cancer warriors💯.
Across the pond in the US, google has been accused of holding a monopoly on online ads. It acts illegally to dominate search engine and eliminates competitors at every chance🙀. Definitely some truth in this but let's wait and see how that case concludes.
In Africa, Guinea Bissau trending as police seized two tonnes of cocaine, the largest haul ever😹.
Then in Morocco floods have wrecked havoc in some parts of the country.
Speaking of floods, let's cross to Asia where super typhoon Yagi has done wonders in Vietnam. A big bridge collapsed sending vehicles plunging into a river🙀. Deaths reported in that tragedy😭.
Finally, not far in the Philippines an influential televangelist has been arrested, accused of sex trafficking women and young girls🙀.
It's a crazy world 🤪. He will probably be extradited to the US where some of his crimes occurred.
