Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The last Monday of April. It's a new week and the stepping continued unabated. Please keep reading 👓 as I fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for being here and let's take it away 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. I did enjoy that fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Flooding reported in parts of Nairobi after last night's rain. Two hours away from Nairobi a dam burst causing severe flooding and lots of damage.
Globally, the Gaza situation remains the same as Israeli airstrikes kept going in the south in Rafa😿. 25 Palestinians killed including ten members of one family😭.
Also trending, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is in Saudi Arabia meeting other Arab leaders as they discuss the Gaza war.
In Europe, Scotland trending as Hamza Yusuf stepped down as Scottish first minister after the collapse of his power sharing govt last week🙀.
Meanwhile, Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez will not be resigning after those allegations made against his wife. He called the allegations a harassment campaign against his wife🙀.
Across the pond in the US, more students from other universities joined anti war movement in solidarity with Gaza.
In Texas state troopers gathered at university of Texas in Austin in response to campus protests.
In new York, Columbia university protesters have been ordered to leave immediately but they still remain camped after deadline😹.
Finally, in crazy weather, a heatwave is sweeping parts of Asia, school closures have been extended in the Philippines🙀. Let's hope the temps cool down soon. I have heard of tornadoes in Oklahoma too. However, all's well that ends well 💯
