Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new week and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's get cracking 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, the muslim holy month of Ramadan began with no ceasefire in sight in Gaza😿. Israeli attacks in south Gaza continued in Khan Younis and Rafa. More than 70 Palestinians dead in the past 24 hours😭.
In the north of Gaza, hunger and shortage of food spreading fast as little or no aid is reaching the area. Close to 25 children have already died from malnutrition and starvation😿.
On the bright side, the US, Jordan, UAE have been dropping aid packages into parts of Gaza to help alleviate the hunger.
Elsewhere, occupied east Jerusalem trending as Israel restricted access to the Al Aqsa mosque. Palestinians who tried to enter the mosque were being beaten by Israeli forces at gate entrance🙀.
Jordan has condemned the blocking of access to Al aqsa mosque.
Not far off India trending as PM Narendra Modi's govt announced rules to implement the controversial anti muslim 2019 citizenship law🙀.
This weeks before the PM seeks a rare third term in the upcoming May elections.
Finally, across the pond, Haiti emergency summit has been called as gang-fuelled security crisis spirals out of control🙀.
That summit is being held in Jamaica, other Caribbean nation presidents are attending. Also in attendance is US secretary of state Anthony Blinken who arrived with officials from the UN.
Haiti has been over run by gangs and public order has collapsed. The prominent gang leader wants the current PM to resign and not return to the country🙀.
Let's hope a diplomatic solution can be found💯.
