Happy Monday, happy new year 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new week and hopefully you are having a great day, can't believe it's March already😹. My day has been ok and as it draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's take it away💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, Israeli airstrikes kept going in Rafa and central Gaza. Mainly on residential buildings killing 124 Palestinians in the past 24 hours😿.
The death toll now at 30,500😭.
To add insult to injury, an Israeli airstrike at a graveside unearthed already buried bodies🙀.
Meanwhile, ceasefire negotiations are taking place in Cairo. Hamas is there but Israel didn't send a delegation😿.
In Europe, France trending as it becomes one of the first countries to enshrine abortion rights into its constitution. Thus making it tamper proof at politicians or courts will.
Poland also trending as NATO is carrying out its largest military exercises since the cold war🙀. There are 20,000 soldiers from 13 allied nations taking part.
Let's stay in Europe, EU has hit apple with $2 billion anti trust fine following a Spotify compliant. Spotify says apple prevented music streaming services from informing users of payment options outside its app store😹.
Across the pond in the US, the supreme court has ruled that Trump can remain on 2024 primary ballots. A big victory for him ahead of super Tuesday.
Still in the US, Netanyahu rival Benny Gantz is in Washington where he met vice president Kamala Harris. She has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the next six weeks. Let's hope someone is listening💯.
