Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for and as the day fades away, am raring to go with my stepping activities of the day including some of the trending stories I came across. The very last Sunday of January thank you for being here and let's get cracking 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice long walk walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out walking in the hills. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹,
Globally another horrendous day in Gaza as Israeli strikes have killed at least 165 Palestinians in the past 24 hours😿. Bringing total death toll to over 26,000 killed since October 7 😭.
Israeli military has been carrying out more air and ground attacks in the central and southern parts of Gaza🙀.
Not far off, 3 US soldiers have been killed in a drone attack in north eastern Jordan near Syrian border🙀. At least 34 other soldiers injured. US says the attack was carried out by armed groups backed by Iran.
Elsewhere, UK says it thwarted Houthi drone attack in the Red Sea.
Trending in Europe, Ukraine says it has uncovered $40 million arms corruption scheme🙀. The security service of Ukraine added that five people have been charged over plot to embezzle funds earmarked to buy mortar shells.
Finally, environmental protesters have thrown soup at the glass protected mona lisa in France😹, calling for the right to healthy and sustainable food. The louvre said the painting was undamaged.
The slogan was " your agricultural system is sick, our farmers are dying at work".
