Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so give it up for him and other furry friends 😻. As for me I have had a great day stepping it out this Saturday; and just about now I wanna fill you in on how it went and also share some of the trending stories. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
It was a nice morning so I had an amazing session of a long brisk walking around the neighbourhood and park. The other time I stepped out was to the shopping center for veggies and fruits around 1 pm. It was a largely cloudy day as I made my way. As always I had my usual afternoon nap, then I got up and had the cooking done.
Finally I had the usual slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze 🍃 .In between I was watching the news and also youtube. Some interesting games in the AFCON are going on too.
So what's been trending in the media streets? Locally a rather quiet day with the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as 174 civilians are killed in 24 hours of isreali military action😿. The total number since October 7 is now 26,527😭.
Heavy rain and cold weather is compounding the misery in Gaza. There's a chance of flooding in low lying areas. Shortage of blankets, warm clothing. There's also shortage of food supplies too😿.
Nasser hospital in Khan Younis is on the verge of collapse, lots of injured people coming in, the compound full of displaced civilians taking refuge. It's a mess🙀.
Over in Israel, thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv to protest against the govt asking for resignations🙀.
Another group of families of captives held in Gaza, gathered as usual to ask the govt to do more to secure the release of their loved ones.
Let's go to Europe, where pro Palestinian demonstrations took place in Athens Greece. Protesters calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
In London, pro Palestinian protesters gathered outside barclays bank that they say has some direct connection with Israel🙀. Also asking for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Austria trending as different kind of protests took place. People gathered to condemn right wing extremism🙀. A similar protest took place in Berlin Germany against the right wing AFD party and its extreme views on immigration.
Finally, Filipinos were up in arms after president Ferdinand Marcos flew into the Coldplay concert with a govt helicopter, fueled by taxpayers. Conveniently by passing the heavy traffic on the road. He definitely learned from the best😹.
