Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday, happy new year 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, a new week and I have had a great day. The second week of 2024 has kicked off well💯. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away💨.
So I had two major walks in the morning and evening. Started off the day with the fast paced morning session; today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. After a bit of resting, I did the usual household chores. Later in the afternoon I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹, otherwise a quiet day. Last year's high school exams results were announced, of course some students are happy to have passed but we have some who failed😿.
Globally, the turmoil in Gaza kept going. In the past 24 hours 250 Palestinians have been killed in bombings🙀. The total death toll has now hit 23,084😭.
The areas targeted are in south and central Gaza. The Al aqsa hospital in central Gaza was overwhelmed with many injured and also dead people😿.
Lebanon trending as another assassination occurred. Senior Hezbollah commander Wisam Al Tawil was killed by an Israeli drone strike in south Lebanon.
Israel on high alert as they wait to see how Hezbollah will react to this.
Hamas earlier fired a barrage of rockets from Gaza towards Tel Aviv 🙀. Sirens went off in Tel Aviv and several cities in central Israel forcing residents to take cover.
On the diplomatic front, Anthony Blinken was in Saudi Arabia and will arrive in Israel next as he pushes for more aid for Gaza and the release of isreali captives.
In Europe, Ukraine trending as Russia carried out another massive air raid. 4 people were killed but most of the missiles were intercepted and none of them hit Kyiv.
Across the pond in the US, chants of " ceasefire now " interrupted Biden's speech in Charleston SC at a church. American bombs are killing innocent Palestinians were some of the shouts🙀.
Then political shenanigans😹, as the white house wasn't informed that defence secretary Lloyd Austin was admitted to hospital after complications from a surgery he underwent🙀. No word on when he will return to work.
Finally, in crazy weather, northern Europe is experiencing a cold snap with degrees in the negative🙀. Do keep warm if you are affected💯.
