Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are bang in the middle of the week and I have had another wonderful day. I can't believe it's the last Wednesday of 2023😹.Thank you for being here and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day went plus some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get going 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, after Xmas and yesterday's public holiday, today was back to work for some people. For others the holiday season goes on.
Globally, the dire situation in Gaza kept going. Israeli forces have raided hospitals across Gaza accusing Hamas of using them for military purposes🙀.
Only eight hospitals are still operating in Gaza and not all of them at full capacity. 27 of Gaza's 35 hospitals are shut😿. 55 of 72 primary health clinics are closed. 310 healthcare staff killed so far😭.
99 arrested by isreali military and interrogated.
Also trending, Israel announced three of their soldiers killed today during fierce ground fight with Hamas in northern Gaza. Bringing the total to 154 Israeli soldiers killed so far. However, Hamas says the number is far higher and Israel isn't being truthful🙀.
Also trending, Hezbollah and Israeli army have been exchanging fire across the common border since the bombings in Gaza began. Today Israeli airstrikes have killed three civilians in the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbel😭.
Not far off, Jordanian king has met Egyptian president, as they called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Trending in Europe, the architect of modern EU, Jacques Delors has died aged 98. Popularly know as the father of EU, may his soul rest in eternal peace💯.
Across the pond, Trump trending as Michigan court throws out order to bar him from standing in 2024 elections. It's gonna be a showdown between him and Biden😹.
Also trending, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is visiting mexico in a bid to stem the growing number of migrants crossing into the US. Upto 10,000 people a day🙀.
