Happy Monday 🎉Merry Christmas ☃️ 🌲 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully your week is off to a great start ☺️. Can't believe it's the last Monday of 2023 though😹. My day has been wonderful and as always I am glad you stopped by yet again 👏. Let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also some of the trending news. Here we go again 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. I did enjoy that fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the mall then had some nice lunch with some friends and neighbours.
In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Otherwise a festive day, people out in the parks, malls and other entertainment joints.
Globally, the dire situation in Gaza continued. 250 Palestinians have been killed in isreali airstrikes in the past 24 hours 😭.
From the 250 dead, 106 died in the bombing of Al Maghazi refugee camp. A desperate situation as people dug out the dead and survivors with their bare hands😿. Some bodies still trapped under the rubble🙀.
Total death toll is now 20,674 according to Gaza health ministry.
Israeli PM, Netanyahu has vowed to intensify the fighting, he was speaking after visiting troops in Gaza.
In the birth place of Jesus,Bethlehem. A subdued Christmas was held. No packed streets or big celebrations as is always the case. This in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
At the Vatican, Pope Francis has called for peace in Gaza. An end to the bombings killing innocent people and the freeing of captives being held in Gaza 💯.
Also trending in Europe, Serbia police have arrested 38 people after violence in Belgrade over election results. The fracas brought by mostly university students was cooled off.
In Asia, Chinese state media accused the Philippines of repeatedly infringing on china's territory 😹. Collisions and near-misses between Chinese and Philippine vessels have increased in recent months.
Finally in crazy weather, the Chinese capital, Beijing, has experienced its coldest December since records began in 1951🙀. Temperatures have been frequently falling below -10°c this month.
Meanwhile, the UK had experienced the warmest Christmas this year with temps at 12°C, though snowfall reported in the highlands of Scotland.
