Hello everyone 👋,
TGIF ✨, happy holidays and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. This week has just flown by and alas the weekend is here yet again😹; with Xmas on Monday. As always I am so grateful for this day. It's been wonderful stepping it out 💯, now that it's almost bedtime 💤 let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I started the day with some brisk walking around the neighbourhood, today was a little warmer than yesterday which motivated me to keep going. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had to get something to cook from the shopping centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breeze🍃. Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹,
Globally, casualties mount from north to south Gaza as Israel intensified airstrikes and ground offensive 😿.
Israel forces targeted a moving car in Rafa in southern Gaza killing most of its occupants😭. Residential buildings have also been targeted in some of the bombings.
Also trending, Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging bombs over the common border🙀. In Lebanon, Hezbollah have said they will keep up the attacks as long as Israel keeps bombing Gaza.
Across the pond in the US, UN security council has approved a resolution to bring more aid into Gaza after several delays this week. The resolution calls for urgent steps to deliver aid to Gaza but not for suspension of hostilities🙀.
The US and Russia abstained during the vote😹 and all other members of the council voted in favour.
Lets go to Europe where the EU has increased it's aid allocation to Gaza to go towards easing the terrible situation in Gaza.
Finally, demonstrations were held outside Westminster Abbey in London to remember the children of Gaza. Palestinian solidarity group urged UK's govt to do more for people and children of Gaza.
Let's hope all the ongoing diplomatic talks yield a lasting ceasefire in Gaza💯
