Happy Monday, happy holidays 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are onto a new month, new week and hopefully you are having a great day this far. Mine has been ok and as the day draws to a close, am raring to go with some of the day's trending news and my stepping activities. Thank you for stopping by yet again and let's take it away💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹.
Globally, Gaza still trending as Israel kept up with the bombings. Today the bombs struck shifa hospital where thousands of Palestinians were sheltering🙀. Other shelling took place in Jabaliya refugee camp. According to Gaza health ministry the death toll is 19,453😭.
Also trending, US defence secretary Lloyd Austin was in Israel for talks with PM Netanyahu and defence minister. He said the US will keep supporting Israel but warned Israel to protect civilians at all costs even as they go after Hamas.
Meanwhile, Israeli, Qatari and US officials are in Warsaw to discuss possible release of captives. The CIA chief, Qatari PM and head of Mossad will discuss potential new deal on captives. Lets hope for a good deal that pauses bombings for the long haul💯
Also trending in Europe, Pope Francis has allowed priests to bless same sex couples, a significant advance for LGBT people in the Roman Catholic church.
Across the pond in the US, UN security council is due to vote on a new resolution calling for urgent and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza. The US blocked a security council resolution calling for humanitarian ceasefire on Dec8🙀. Lets see how the vote on this upcoming one.
