Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are bang in the middle of the week and I have had another wonderful day. I can't believe we are almost halfway through December😹.Thank you for being here and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day went plus some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get going 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, after yesterday's public holiday, today was back to work.
Globally, Gaza still trending as Israel continued bombing in various areas. The ground battle with Hamas fighters also kept going.
In a shocking case witnesses say Israeli forces executed women, children and new born babies who were sheltering at a school in northern Gaza😭.
Then a dire situation as heavy rainfall compounded desperation in Gaza as thin fabric of makeshift tents ⛺ tear and shelters flood😿.
Meanwhile, Israeli army said ten of its soldiers were killed in northern Gaza on Tuesday during the ground fight with Hamas fighters.
Also a supermarket in the Israeli city of Ashdod was hit by rocket fragments fired by Hamas from the Gaza strip🙀.
Across the pond in the US; president Biden met families of 8 Israeli-American captives being held by Hamas in Gaza. He warned Israel risks losing international support due to indiscriminate bombing of Gaza civilians.
Lets go to Europe, Ukraine trending as Russia targeted Kyiv in late night, early morning attacks. At least 53 people were injured after falling debris from ten intercepted missiles fell on buildings causing damage😿. The damage would have been massive if the missiles hadn't been shot down. President Zelensky insisted they needed to keep boosting air defence systems💯.
Finally, Argentina trending as the new president, Javier Milei, devalued its currency by 54% yesterday🙀. This is part of shock measures to try and revive the economy. The IMF to which Argentina owes $44 billion welcomed the new measure. We are still waiting for the new president to make bitcoin legal tender😹
