Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for and as the day fades away, am raring to go with my stepping activities of the day including some of the trending stories I came across. Thank you for being here and let's get cracking 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was a short walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out walking in the hills. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, then flooding reported in parts of the country due to heavy rainfall 🙀.
Globally, Gaza still trending as Israel strikes continued to target civilians turning residential buildings into rubble😿. The number of injured and dead increased.
A desperate situation as there are no rescue ambulances or digging equipment. People are doing it by bare hands and some bodies are being left in the rubble🙀.
Some good news as the pre mature babies were moved from Al shifa hospital to Rafa. Out of 39, eight babies died so only 31 were saved.
EU top diplomat, Josep Borrell stopped by in Doha for talks with Qatari PM on the ongoing war. The Qatari PM expressed confidence that a deal to release Israeli hostages would be reached soon. That in exchange for a pause in the bombings.
Also trending, houthi rebels in Yemen have hijacked ship owned by an Israeli business man in the red sea. The ship had been traveling from Turkey to India. They have taken it to the port of Yemen🙀. Israel denied any Israelis were onboard, blaming Iran for the whole incident.
Speaking of Iran, the revolutionary guard have unveiled a hypersonic ballistic missile named Fatah2. A dangerous one as it can escape most defence systems😹.
Across the pond in Argentina the presidential runoff election is ongoing. Economy minister Sergio Massa is going one on one with far right candidate Javier Milei in a really tight race. The poor state of the economy driven by high inflation is the main issue worrying voters. May the best candidate win 💯. Javier Milei will make btc legal tender in Argentina if he does win though.
Finally, Australia stunned hosts India to win sixth cricket world cup for a sixth time🤪. Oh wow, congratulations 🎉 to team Australia🎊. Well done💯
